The Women in ClimateTech and Sustainability Reverse Accelerator

The Women in ClimateTech and Sustainability Reverse Accelerator, a collaboration between Accelerating Asia Impact and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), and supported by Global Affairs Canada (GAC), aims to support startups in the Asia-Pacific region led or founded by women offering ClimateTech or sustainability solutions.

This initiative flips the traditional approach by focusing on investors first. The initial phase involves interviewing investors (including angels, Venture Capitals, Corporate Venture Capitals, Family Offices, and institutional investors) to understand their investment decision-making processes and sentiments regarding women-led or ClimateTech startups. These insights will inform the design and implementation of the month-long accelerator in the second phase. The project culminates with a Demo Day during UNESCAP's Feminist Finance Forum in Bangkok in May 2024.

Accelerating Asia is the Y Combinator of Southeast Asia, with a more relevant program for Founders in the region. After the accelerator we will be better able to focus on building and scaling our business.

Anggia Meisesari

CO-FOUNDER, TransTRACK.ID

What I really like about Accelerating Asia is the focus on immediately actionable tactics.  It also really helps that the Accelerating Asia team is a set of people who genuinely care and want us to succeed. So they are hustling for us every day.

Binny Mathews

CO-FOUNDER, ProjectPro

There are so many situations you face as a founder where you need someone who’s experienced something similar to point you in the right direction. Or give you a perspective you’ve never considered. Or provide some structure to the chaos. That’s what Accelerating Asia really did for us.

Sharon Yeo

CO-FOUNDER, TalentTribe

We're glad that we took this opportunity. Without it, we won't realize the actual metrics that we need to focus on. The high-touch program is perfect for early-stage startups like ChatGenie. The whole team is doing a great job working with early-stage startups in the region.

Ragde Falcis

Co-founder, ChatGenie

The top highlights are the exposure to investors, the opportunity to learn from and network with a diverse range of startup founders, and not forgetting the mentorship support from the Accelerating Asia team.

Jing Lin Lee

Co-founder, Kopi Date

Accelerating Asia is a door to Southeast Asia. This for me is one of the biggest opportunities for any startup in the world now in terms of the growth of the region, and also the funding that is been deployed to the region.

Carlos Lopez

CO-FOUNDER, Numu

Joining Accelerating Asia is a huge vote of confidence as it doesn’t just invest money but also opens up a high-quality network of investors, mentors and experts to us. I have had the privilege of working with the team who added value from day 1 on our journey to transform the way women (and soon men!) shop for clothes, look good and feel great.

Gwen Delhumeau

FOUNDER, Ellegra

We raised more money in the past two months with Accelerating Asia's support and network than in the past four years.

Archer Chiang

CO-FOUNDER, Giftpack

We initially tried the Amplify program, which is from Accelerating Asia, and the feedback we got from them during the whole program was really amazing. We can make the best out of the program. After that, we were convinced that we wanted to be a part of that accelerator program as well.

Khine Pwint Nwe

Co-founder, Z-waka

Accelerating Asia successfully melds a highly skilled and passionate team who are not hesitant to share their knowledge, a smart and engaging accelerator program with useful startup resources and a strong network of investors, mentors and alumni.

JT Solis

CO-FOUNDER, Mayani

The Accelerating Asia team helped us sharpen our messaging and approach to fundraising and to accelerate our growth. The program is tailored to the needs of each startup, so people that go through the program get maximum benefit for their stage

Tim Davies

CO-FOUNDER, Waitrr

We really like the no-nonsense approach that was the key thing and the second was the help with fundraising. The reason we joined the accelerator was because we are first-time Founders. There are a lot of things, we don't know what we don't know and that is the gap we want to bridge with the accelerator program.

Dirk-Jan ter Horst

CO-FOUNDER, Drive lah

Accelerating Asia gave me a lot of guidance, support and showed us how to improve. With this program, I can also chat a lot of investors, Limited Partners in the fund and a lot of people and mentors- it would take a lot of time if I do this alone. With the help of Accelerating Asia, I can do it faster, better and I can get direct feedback.
