About the Gender Advisory Group

Accelerating Asia’s Gender Advisory Group provides strategic advice and support to the Accelerating Asia team on gender initiatives.

Scope of Gender Advisory Group

‍

• Participate in bi-annual meetings to discuss and review Accelerating Asia’s approaches to gender focused initiatives.
  ‍
• Provide strategic Accelerating Asia advice on opportunities relating to gender equality in the startup and investing ecosystem
  ‍
• Deliver thought leadership on issues relating to gender.
  ‍
• Support the promotion of activities and initiatives Accelerating Asia and startups are taking to promote equal opportunity for women.

Expectations

‍

• Participate in bi-annual meetings to discuss and advise Accelerating Asia on strategies to support female-led ventures, startups delivering solutions for women and gender based initiatives.
  ‍
• Accelerating Asia is Singapore based but that doesn’t mean you have to be, our bi-annual meetings can take place over Skype, Google Hangouts or any way we organise.

What we’re looking for

‍

• Members will be experienced professionals and come from a cross-section of industries and backgrounds such as tech, investment, private or public sector, academia or not-for-profit.
  ‍
• You are a rockstar, someone who is passionate about gender lens investing, supporting female-led ventures and promoting a diverse industry that is safe for everyone in the tech ecosystem.
  ‍
• At least 5 - 10 years’ experience working on gender-focused projects, the startup ecosystem and technology industry, corporate sector or university research.

Applications are open to everyone and we are looking for a diversity of opinions and representatives for the Gender Advisory Group.

Please note this is a voluntary advisory position.

What will you receive

You’ll join Accelerating Asia’s network of advisors, mentors and community members who are active members of the Southeast Asian ecosystem.

Exclusive access to invite-only events and opportunities.

Length of Role

An initial appointment length of 12 months will be made with a possible extension.
